Ingredients

VolumeGrams
1 lb strawberries, with stems, washed and completely dry454 g
6 oz semisweet chocolate, chopped170 g
1 tsp coconut oil, or vegetable oil4.1 g
2 oz white chocolate, chopped, optional57 g

Gram weights use the King Arthur Baking ingredient weight chart; amounts given in lb or oz are converted by weight (1 lb = 453.6 g, 1 oz = 28.35 g). Measure flour by spooning it into the cup and leveling, or better, weigh it.

Method

  1. Line a sheet pan with parchment. Make sure the berries are completely dry; any water makes chocolate seize.
  2. Melt the semisweet chocolate with the oil in 20-second microwave bursts, stirring between, until smooth.
  3. Hold each berry by the stem, dip, let the excess drip off, and set on the parchment.
  4. Melt the white chocolate and drizzle over the berries with a fork.
  5. Chill 20–30 minutes until set. Best eaten the same day.

Tips

  • Room-temperature berries give fewer 'sweat' beads than cold ones.
